By using Swap you agree to the following terms. They are intentionally short: this is a marketplace where strangers trade physical items, so most of the responsibility for any actual swap rests with the two parties involved.
Swap is operated by FORMA SOFT LTD, registered at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.
What Swap is
A platform for listing things you want to swap, browsing what other people are offering, chatting to agree a trade, and then completing that trade either in person or by post.
Swap is not:
- A shop — nothing on Swap is sold by us, and we never take ownership of the items users trade.
- A guarantor of any swap — we do not inspect items, verify their condition or authenticity, or judge whether a trade is fair.
Completing a swap
Once both parties accept a proposal, you choose together how to complete it:
- Meet in person — you arrange the meet-up directly. The swap is recorded as complete when both of you confirm it happened. Meeting other users is at your own risk, and we encourage public places.
- Swap by post — each person pays, through the app, for the parcel coming to them. Shipping labels are issued only once every parcel of the swap has been paid for, so nobody ships before the other side has paid. Each sender then has 72 hours to drop their parcel off with the carrier.
Where shipping is available, the price you pay for each parcel coming to you is the carrier's cost for that label plus a Swap fee of €0.50. You see the full price, with the label and the fee shown separately, before you pay. If a parcel you paid for never ships — for example because the swap is cancelled or the sender misses the drop-off deadline — we refund what you paid for it, label and fee included. Missing a deadline to pay for or to drop off a parcel counts against your reputation on Swap.
Swap coins
Where available, you can also take an item for Swap coins, or add coins to a swap, instead of trading item for item.
- Coins have no monetary value. They cannot be bought, sold or exchanged for money, and they cannot be transferred to anyone outside a deal on Swap.
- Coins are created only when a deal completes. While a deal is in progress, the coins it involves are held, and they are released if the deal does not complete.
- Your balance may go below zero, down to a credit limit that we set.
- We may adjust, freeze or remove coins in case of abuse, error or fraud.
- Coins lapse when your account is deleted. A negative balance is written off.
- We may change or end the coins feature at any time.
Paid features
- Pro Swapper is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. It renews until you cancel it, and you cancel it in your store account, not in Swap.
- Boosts are one-off purchases that raise one of your listings in the feed for 24 hours.
- Purchases of subscriptions and boosts are handled by Apple or Google, and their refund policies apply. Shipping labels are paid separately and are not store purchases.
- The free version of Swap has no listing caps and no feature walls. Paid features add to it; they do not unlock the basic product.
Your responsibilities
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Swap.
- You may only list items you own and are legally allowed to sell or give away.
- You must not list illegal items, weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, or anything else that violates local law.
- You must not post objectionable content (sexual, hateful, violent or discriminatory material) or harass, threaten or scam other users. We have zero tolerance for this: such content is removed and the account responsible is suspended.
- When you swap by post, you are responsible for packing your item adequately and for the accuracy of the address you provide.
Our responsibilities
- We keep the app working and your data safe.
- We moderate photos to prevent obviously illegal or NSFW content.
- We respond to support requests at support@swapyourgoods.com within five business days.
Reporting and blocking
- Every listing, profile and chat message has a Report option. Reports are private: the person you report is not told who reported them.
- We review every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these terms and suspend or ban the accounts responsible.
- You can block anyone. You won't see each other's listings or chats, and they can't message you. You can unblock them from Settings → Blocked users.
Suspension and removal
We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or our community guidelines. We will tell you why.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Swap is not liable for any loss, damage, or dispute arising from a swap arranged through the app, including the condition of an item received, a parcel lost or damaged in transit, or a user who fails to complete an agreed trade. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

We will update this page when material changes happen.
